What do we do?
Inari, Sodankylä and Utsjoki have established a joint municipal organisation to be responsible for the joint lobbying and stakeholder work in the sub-region.
Decision-making
The supreme decision-making power of the joint municipal organisation is exercised by the Joint Board, whose term of office is the term of office of the council. The Board of Directors is made up of a total of nine (9) municipal councillors appointed by the municipalities.
Under the Joint Board, a working committee is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the organisation’s affairs. The mayors are members of the working committee and the executive director serves as secretary.
Projects
We participate in cooperation projects that support the objectives of the sub-region and promote the well-being of local people.
Making an impact for Northern Lapland
The Federation of Northern Lapland municipalities (PLaky) looks after the interests of the sub-region and its citizens. We participate in projects that contribute to the vitality of Northern Lapland and the well-being of its citizens.
