Developing cooperation between sub-regional authorities in Lapland

Team six-pack, a project to develop cooperation between Lapland’s sub-regional authorities, brings together key actors in regional development and advocacy. It will help build a modern advocacy agenda for Lapland to meet the needs and challenges of the future. A rapidly changing society also requires new ways of working and new tools. The project will strengthen the skills of sub-regional and local authorities and support internationalisation. It will make inter-regional cooperation and advocacy more strategic and visible. A deeper understanding of our regions’ strengths and areas for development will provide a basis for joint advocacy and structured action.

The Team six-pack project will strengthen and renew cooperation between regional actors, so that we can make better use of national and international networks and funding to develop the vitality and attractiveness of the region. The knowledge and capacity of actors to use the strategy and implementation programme for smart specialisation in Lapland will be improved.

The project will create a new cooperation model for the coming years. The project will provide training on EU funding and seek best practice and new ideas from other regions. It will introduce municipalities to the EU Office for Eastern and Northern Finland and the Brussels office of the Association of Local and Regional Authorities. The project has been funded by the Lapland Regional Council with AKKE funding.
